If you don't mind crowds and are well into partying, the Guv is the best club to go to on a Saturday night. We arrived at 4AM and we still had to queue and had to be frisked. And in typical North American fashion, we had to present our IDs! DUH!!!

Damage: $10 before midnight, $15 after

We were clean, had our IDs and were good looking enough to please the bouncer. Off we go to the Main Room! As we stepped in, we were like, Wow! Massive dancefloor heaving with people! The music was pounding the best progressive house tunes we've heard since Digweed in Groovejet. The DJ playing was Mark Oliver who enjoys the reputation of being the best local progressive house DJ in Toronto. He draws in about 3000 partymakers on a Saturday night! And this is only a regular Saturday night. Imagine what it would be like if Sasha were in the house!

But big name DJs do make appearances at The Guv and if you happen to be in Toronto, check out their website to see who's playing.

Our party experience was definitely enhanced by the brilliant lighting system in the Main Room. A huge grid of strobes, lasers and what-have-yous suspended from the 20-metre high ceiling moves up and down and side to side. Excellent to trip out on!

There are actually six rooms and two outdoor lounges to choose from this sprawling 50,000 square foot structure! If you're curious enough to take a peak and see what it's like, just click on the links below.
